if you're heading to the Cote D`azur (South of France) you have to visit the tiny independent Principality Monaco where the real Hollywood romance is born: In 1956, Prince Rainier III of Monaco marries film actress Grace Kelly. Nowadays the taxfree haven Monte Carlo is known as a playground for the bluebloods and the rich & beautiful, big yachts and the annual Formula One race held on the Circuit de Monaco. Right in the middle of the "village" is Hotel de Paris and its Casino. A stone's throw away (10 minutes drive by car) lies the litte village of Eze, where while having lunch at Chateau de la Chevre d'Or you can enjoy the wonderful view, high above the sea. A bit further away and perfect for a sleepover is the glamorous city of Cannes (51km) where every year Hollywoods a-list celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt walk down the red carpet at La Croisette. Give yourself a rest and drive 20 minutes towards St.Paul de Vence, strolling through the little alleways and having dinner in the famous and probably most romantic restaurant and hotel at the Cote d`azur the Colombe d`or. And check out all the paintings and sculptures in and around the the restaurant - it's all real art by painters like Picasso or Monet.
