Bangkok
Bangkok is known locally as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon which means the "City of Angels". It is the cultural, educational, political and economic center of Thailand. Numerous beautiful temples can be found in the old sections of Bangkok which are immensely popular tourist spots - particularly the The Royal Grand Palace. Bangkok is an unique blend of traditional and modern culture. Bangkok's nightlife is wild, rowdy and sometimes finishes off with a happy ending, but these Thai whiskey drinkers also know how to party in style! The city features an eclectic concoction of nightclubs within the Soi 11 and RCA areas. With tight closing regulations, the pressure to party is all there, but leaving you to either go home, which would be the more sensible option, or hang around for the ever-sought 'illegal' afterhour. Dress codes are fairly relaxed, as well as the doormen. Be cab savvy - they are a little dodgy. Two things to not leave home without: your favourite glow-stick and your ID!
